"Happy 85th to Nuge Schneider, Our Late Honorary Founder"

Schneider & Pollock Wealth Management Inc. was created in the spirit of our Honorary Founder, Nugent Schneider. Known to his friends as Nuge, he considered each client to be a friend, which is why he never contemplated retirement. Nuge dedicated his 60-year career to offering timely personal attention, exceptional service, and a conservative investment philosophy with capital preservation in mind.

Nuge taught us many qualities but none were more important than putting the needs of our clients first. Throughout his career and into his later years, Nuge actively responded to clients around the clock, whenever his counsel was sought. Any client question, compliment, suggestion, or criticism was sure to attract Nuge’s attention and become a top priority until the matter was resolved.

Nuge loved life and lived it to its fullest. He was always available to offer helpful personal advice, was fond of jazz music, and was ready to share a colourful joke on command in front of an audience.

While he was seldom shy to reciprocate a strong and lively opinion, Nuge also had a big heart and displayed an exceptional generosity to his very many friends.

Starting out as a downtown Toronto Stock Exchange floor trader in the late 1950s, Nuge rose to attain multiple senior positions at several investment and brokerage firms. In 1988, along with his two close and lifelong friends – Deane Nesbitt Jr. and Albert Matthews Jr. – Nuge founded Vestcap, a wealth management firm. After Nuge and his partners sold their company, he served as its Chairman of the Board and continued to manage the portfolios of his clientele until his sad and unexpected passing in 2019.

Our company was created to continue Nuge’s legacy as a hard working, ethical, and decent person.

These invaluable principles that Nuge taught us during his many years of leadership, mentorship, and most of all friendship, will always guide us going forward in our years ahead.
